What obligation do I have to a friend of a friend? I met this guy at a club about three weeks ago, and we’ve been talking ever since. Well I recently showed my best friend a picture of the guy, and he informs me a friend of his used to be with him. Now, I know the friend he was talking about, but he isn’t my friend. At most, he is an acquaintance. My friend said I may want to back off this new guy, because he has history with someone I know. However, I really like this guy, and I’ve only seen my friend’s friend in passing. Am I wrong for wanting to continue seeing this new man?
What the heck is wrong with being a homebody? I mean truly. My friends complain from time to time that I never want to go out on the weekend. Which is true. However, I don’t really enjoy it anymore. I’ll go out on the rare occasion, but I just don’t want to be a regular these days. Why should I pay to have a mediocre time hanging out, when I can have a good time hanging at home for free? Don’t get me wrong, I love my friends and spending time with them, but I just rather hang out with them at my place, their place, or even a happy hour. Anywho, what are your thoughts?
-Get Me Home
The whole Orlando incident has been weighing heavy on me and my relationship. While we both thankfully didn’t lose someone close to us, we can’t help but to think that could have been us. I mean we don’t live in the gay club, but we go on occasion. As a matter of fact, we were in a club around the same time all of this was going on. Knowing we could have very well been the ones shot at, has got my boyfriend spooked. Badly. We’re supposed to go out to a mutual friend’s birthday party in two weeks, and he refuses to go. He doesn’t want to take the “risk.” I told him we can’t live like hermit crabs because of this, but he won’t listen. What are your thoughts?
Won’t Live in Fear
Noticed you give advice on friendship stuff, and was hoping you could drop some nuggets of wisdom my way. Over the past few months I guess, I’ve really not been wanting to hang out in clubs and stuff. So when my friends ask, I’m always finding an excuse as to why I can’t go. Well a couple days back, one of my friends called me out on it. He said I never go out anymore and wondering why I’ve changed up. He kind of made me feel bad. Am I supposed to go clubbing just to please my friends? I mean what would you do? This is not a big deal right now, but just don’t want it to become one. Appreciate the help.
Getting Too Old
Would you tell a friend that he has bad body odor? I met a friend in grad school this semester, and he’s real cool. On occasion we go out happy hour and chill. Well last Friday was the first time we went clubbing together, and let’s just say it was a foul experience. About an hour after we got to the club, I kept smelling something. At first, I thought it was one of the many other people at the place. However, my nose led me to him. It was so bad. Not only was the smell nauseating, but I was embarrassed to be there with him. Heck, when we left the club to go home, I rode home with my windows down. It may be spring time, but it was nobody’s warm. I’m not sure how I proceed with him. Do I tell my friend he has an odor problem, or do I just never go to the club with him ever again?
Thanks in Advance,
