T’s Top Ten Christmas Songs

Christmas is by far my favorite holiday.  I love everything about it.  First and foremost, I enjoy celebrating the true meaning of Christmas.  As Christian, you could say that I’m a super fan of celebrating Christ. But I also love going from store to store to buy gifts for loved ones.  I love putting up the tree and all the decorations.  I love the smell of my grandma’s stuffing and pies, my mom’s macaroni and cheese, my aunt’s cookies, and all the other food that will certainly have me working overtime in the gym.  And of course there is the music.

I absolutely love listening to Christmas music.  Each year shortly after Thanksgiving, my playlist changes to include some classic holiday hits from Stevie Wonder, the Temptations, and others.  There are certain songs and artists I have to hear during the weeks between that Thanksgiving Thursday and December 25th.  In fact, I have ten must-hear songs.  See if your fav made my cut. FYI, trying to make a top ten list was hard for me.  There are plenty of songs I love that didn’t make it on here.

What’s Your Song of the “Summertime”?

Hey folks!  As the official start of summer approaches, and my excitement about that grows, I’ve been in search of a summer song.  Every year I have that one song that puts me in such a great mood and gives such positive vibes, that I can’t help but to smile and rock out.  When I hear it, my head will get to bopping, shoulders to bouncing, hips to shaking, and the occasional stank face will appear.  For example, I remember my very first summer song was “So What” by Field Mob featuring Ciara.  How many of you all remember that?  That song cranked to me. Heck I remember watching the video on 106 & Park.

Firing Off Friday: Good R&B Is Back

Welcome to another rendition of Firing Off Friday.  This week I actually want to celebrate the resurgence of real and good R&B music back into mainstream America.  In a music genre that is marred by lower album sales, allegations of unauthenticity, and claims of stunted creativity, it’s good to see some musicians deliver quality projects that defy such low expectations.  Three artists in particular have really stood out to me.
