What’s Your Song of the “Summertime”?

Hey folks!  As the official start of summer approaches, and my excitement about that grows, I’ve been in search of a summer song.  Every year I have that one song that puts me in such a great mood and gives such positive vibes, that I can’t help but to smile and rock out.  When I hear it, my head will get to bopping, shoulders to bouncing, hips to shaking, and the occasional stank face will appear.  For example, I remember my very first summer song was “So What” by Field Mob featuring Ciara.  How many of you all remember that?  That song cranked to me. Heck I remember watching the video on 106 & Park.

And one year I chose the still popping “Blurred Lines, and another the now played out “Happy”.  Then last year, it was “Uptown Funk” that I couldn’t get out my head.  Every time I heard it, I couldn’t help but to be put in an inexplicable good mood.  Several times I recall blasting the song while I was in the kitchen cooking.  Was cooking like Bobby Flay one second and dancing like MJ the next. (Well, dancing as best as I could LOL!) Now what song has earned the title of summer song for me this year?

In 2016, I’m pretty settled on my summer song being “California” by Colonel Loud featuring T.I, Young Dolph, and Ricco Barrino (Fantasia’s brother).  I know the track came out in the fall, but the song only really started to gain traction with me.  I recently was listening to it heavy on a workout playlist, and I love everything about it.  And it screams sunny car rides, friendly barbecues, and warm nights chilling with a cocktail.  Yeah, this most definitely will be that good vibe track for me over the next few months.  Will you be listening to it?
